10th Annual Charlie Robertson Memorial Golf Tournament
Join the ranks of the best first responders and their semi-good golf game for a great cause.

Stafford, Virginia Stafford Volunteer Fire Department today announced the date of their 10th Annual Charlie Robertson Memorial Golf Tournament for
FRIDAY, OCTOBER 1st 2021. It will be held at the Gauntlet Golf Club at 18 Fairway Drive, Fredericksburg, VA 22406-4145.
Proceeds will go to the Stafford Volunteer Fire Department Scholarship Fund

Check-in begins at 0745, rules and regulations at 0845 and shotgun start at 0900.

The registration fees are as follows
Payment received prior to September 15th, 2021 - $75**
Payment received after September 15th, 2021 - $80**

Due to ABC laws, please no outside cooler/beverages.
Must bring your own clubs.

About SVFD, it started in 1962 with a borrowed pumper that was stored in a member’s backyard. Over the course of many decades SVFD has had the opportunity to serve its community with a passion that runs deep, dedicated to excellence, served by some of the finest first responders in the area. SVFD is the only Fire House in the county staffed 24/7 by highly trained VOLUNTEERS.

The Stafford Volunteer Fireman’s Association is dedicated to protecting the health, life, and property of the community and the surrounding areas by providing the highest quality fire, medical, and emergency services. In order to achieve that mission, we believe continuous education is required of our members.

We are a non-profit volunteer firefighting department with over 80 active members who respond to over 2400 emergency calls a year. To help our members and their dependents offset the rising costs of education, we have established three yearly scholarships to further fire, medical, or emergency management education. We require applicants to have a minimum of a “B” average to be accepted into the course or program, and we require applicants to write an essay describing why they desire the scholarship and how they will use it for the good of the department and the community. As a means for funding, we have established the Charlie Robertson Memorial Golf Tournament with all proceeds going toward our scholarship fund.

Charlie Robertson was a life member of the Stafford Volunteer Fireman’s Association who began his service to our community in August of 1976. Charlie was highly active as a firefighter, officer, and supporter of our department until his death in January of 2010. When we talk of our memories of Charlie, we frequently think of his devotion to firefighting training and education. In the little free time Charlie had, he enjoyed playing golf. Therefore, we have chosen to honor Charlie by naming our scholarship golf tournament after him.
