Today, we pause to remember Deputy Sheriff Jason Edward Mooney, who tragically lost his life in the line of duty on October 19, 2007 while responding to an emergency call.

Jason served our community with dedication and heart — as a Deputy Sheriff, U.S. Marine Corps Reservist, and active member of the Stafford Fire Department. He was a proud Colonial Forge graduate, a teammate, a band member, and above all, a brother to those who had the honor of serving alongside him.

Eighteen years later, his sacrifice and spirit remain deeply felt throughout Stafford County. We continue to honor his memory, his service, and the legacy he left behind.
