Tonight a group of our volunteers took the opportunity to complete our annual swim qualification

At Company 2, along with several other stations across the county, our members don’t just operate fire apparatus—we also have the responsibility of safely operating our Fire & Rescue boats when emergencies occur on the water.

To perform these missions safely, both career and volunteer members must demonstrate strong water competency. In fact, members are required to complete the swim test before they can even operate or work near the edge of a body of water during an incident.

As the warmer weather approaches, more people will be enjoying our lakes, rivers, and waterways—whether swimming, fishing, or boating. When emergencies happen, our crews must be ready to respond quickly and safely.

Training never stops for our members because we remain Dedicated 2 Excellence and committed to protecting our community.

Thank you to all the volunteers who continue to put in the time and effort to stay mission-ready.
