Meet Technician Josh Sydow, who has been with us since 2020

Josh is currently our Training Lead, ensuring all available training is put out and our members get signed up for and supported for.

- What was your first day as a volunteer like?

Nerve racking but the crew for the night made me feel welcome.

- Why did you choose to volunteer with our fire department?

SVFD offered a better junior program than my local department and made it possible to get all my Certifications before I turned 18.

- What’s your favorite memory with the team?

Staffing and responding to calls during the snowstorm of 2022.

- What advice would you give someone thinking about volunteering?
