| In many parts of our county, fire hydrants aren’t available—this is where rural water operations become critical. Our crews train to ensure that no matter where an emergency happens, we can still establish a reliable water supply to fight fire effectively. Stafford County is equipped with specialized apparatus that carry large volumes of water and support shuttle operations, allowing us to move water where it’s needed most. Drafting is a key part of that mission—using our engines to pull water from static sources like lakes, ponds, or even swimming pools. The water we draft can be used directly for firefighting operations or to fill tankers that transport it to the scene where it’s needed. Training like this ensures we stay ready to serve every corner of our community. Dedicated 2 Excellence |
