This is a major milestone in every firefighter's journey and represents countless hours of training, dedication, and hard work. Earning a Black Shield means Ni'Sean has successfully completed his release process and can now count toward staffing, serving as the third person on the apparatus and helping ensure our community receives the response it deserves.

The release packet is not something that is simply completed by collecting signatures. Every task, skill, and evaluation must be earned. It requires members to demonstrate competency, sound judgment, and the ability to work safely and effectively alongside their fellow firefighters. Most importantly, it proves that they have earned the trust of the crews they serve with—trust that extends to protecting each other's lives on every call.

Ni'Sean has put in the time, effort, and commitment necessary to reach this accomplishment. He has worked hard through his release packet and consistently demonstrated to our duty crews that he possesses the knowledge, skills, and dedication expected of a Stafford Volunteer Fire Department firefighter.
