Serving Together. 🚒

Last night, Truck 1502 had the opportunity to train alongside our friends at Brooke Volunteer Fire Department (Company 5) during a joint vehicle stabilization training.

The evening focused on one of the most critical components of vehicle rescue operations—vehicle stabilization. Our probationary firefighters rotated through three different scenarios, learning how to safely stabilize a vehicle:
🚗 Resting on its side
🚙 Resting on its roof
🚘 Resting on all four wheels

At Stafford Volunteer Fire Department, we emphasize mastering the fundamentals before moving on to advanced techniques. Before any extrication begins—or even before patient removal—a vehicle must be properly stabilized to protect both the patient and our responders. A solid foundation in the basics builds safer, more effective firefighters.

Combined training opportunities like this are just as valuable as training within our own station. Working alongside neighboring companies allows our members to see how other crews communicate, prioritize tasks, and accomplish objectives. Building those relationships and understanding each other’s operational styles is essential, because when the tones drop, we respond as one team.

A huge thank you to the Brooke Volunteer Fire Department for inviting us and including our members in this excellent training opportunity. We appreciate the partnership and look forward to many more joint training sessions as we continue developing and releasing our probationary firefighters into confident, capable members of the fire service.

Dedicated 2 Excellence. 🚒💪
