The purpose of this program is for extended staffing members to capture the life experiences and education necessary for future development in the fire service today, while providing needed staffing for the Stafford Volunteer Fire Department. The program is both demanding and time consuming, but it is our hope that it creates the discipline and respect that is expected in a career fire department.

Extended staffing members of the department generally receive the best experience and training in the shortest amount of time. The amount of calls that these members respond to, coupled with the increased level of involvement with in station affairs makes for an invaluable experience that will positively contribute to a person's career in the fire service.
