| Between multiple calls throughout the night, crews still made time to sharpen critical skills and continue training.
Members spent time over at Ms. Charolette’s pond practicing turbo drafting operations. Turbo drafting is one of the many methods we use to establish a water supply in areas where fire hydrants are not available. Using ponds, pools, and other static water sources allows our crews to continue delivering water for firefighting operations when rural water supply operations are needed.
Drafting is a critical skill for our Driver/Operators, and training opportunities like this help ensure we are ready for whatever situation comes our way. Our probationary members also had the opportunity to learn the setup and operation of various drafting techniques and water supply operations.
Even on busy nights, training never stops because your volunteers are committed to being ready when you need us most.
