🇺🇸 National Preparedness Month — Week 2: Support Your Community Prepared communities are built by prepared people who are willing to help their neighbors

As we continue National Preparedness Month, Stafford Volunteer Fire Department wants to highlight an incredible resource right here in our community — the Stafford County Community Emergency Response Team (CERT).

CERT provides everyday citizens with the knowledge and hands-on skills needed to help themselves, their families, and their neighbors when emergencies or disasters occur. Training includes disaster preparedness, basic medical operations, fire safety, utility controls, light search and rescue, disaster psychology, and more.

And now is a great opportunity to get involved!

👥 Open to adults 18 and older

When emergencies stretch traditional response resources, trained community members can make a real difference. CERT is another example of how neighbors helping neighbors makes Stafford County stronger and more resilient.

You don’t have to wear a fire helmet to serve your community. Sometimes it starts with simply being willing to learn, prepare, and help.
